We continually strive to strengthen our legal foundation by improving the quality and extent of the services we provide. We see a definite niche for a medium-sized law firm that can provide the required expertise in a more efficient, responsive and yet friendly manner. We believe in providing quality service at competitive fees. This is achieved by keeping our structure simple, recruiting and working with the right lawyers, assisted by well-trained and committed staff.
Banking & Finance
Our Banking and Finance experience extends beyond guiding homeowners in taking a loan for their purchase to Corporate Banking, Project Financing and Capital Markets.
We represent banks and finance houses in drafting mortgages, assignments and more complex documents such as debentures and letters of subordination. More importantly, our experience touches upon the manner or method of creating security documents and advising clients of the significance and impact of the terms of the security.
Headed by Mr. M Rajaram, this practice group is supported by experienced secretarial staff whose combined experience numbers at least 30 years. In addition, the group is also capably supported by our Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice group whose litigation experience extends to cases argued in the Court of Appeal. An interesting case handled was that of a defence of a bank which rejected a letter of credit on grounds of forgery.
Clients may rely on both the expertise and experience of the Firm to provide timely and proper advice on the complicated issues surrounding security documentation and banking practice.
Financial support, strengths and reserves are corner stones to the long-term viability of a business.
Obtaining credit facilities and loans from lending institutions are is one of the typical approaches. We endeavor to help link clients with the appropriate financial institutions or vice versa and to provide necessary legal support to our clients to ensure that legal barriers can be overcome. We are familiar with legal documentations for fixed charges, debentures, mortgages, pledges and other loan instruments. Having had a collective experience of at least 20 years in this area of practice makes work relatively speedier.
The Group has worked with and represented both local and foreign banks and financial institutions.
Another approach to raising funds is from the public through the issue and listing of shares and debentures on the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited ("SGX-ST"). Such fund raising exercises may take the form of initial public offers, reverse take-overs, rights issues and private placements.
