Most Significant Legal Cases to Date

The most heart-warming case was a divorce case that stretched for about 5 years, due to irreconcilable differences between the parties. Leela was tasked to take over the case. Being a 3 day old lawyer and appearing for the first time before High Court, she approached the case objectively and convinced the parties to focus on the child rather than themselves. The case avoided litigation and was settled amicably amongst the parties on the same day.  This was the most memorable start to her legal career.

The other case significant to Leela was assisting a senior counsel in a banking litigation case that went on appeal to Court of Appeal, the second highest Court in Malaysia. She represented one of the key financial institutions in a legal tussle on guarantors’ liability. The decision was made in favour of her clients.
