Ahmad Khalis
Khalis graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1985 and was called to the Singapore bar in 1986.
Khalis was in private practice from 1986 to 2005. He dealt with property, trusts, estates, corporate, criminal, family and civil litigation.
Khalis was an elected Member of Parliament from 2001 to 2006.
He was Director of an Islamic Finance Consultancy firm in 2005-2006. He currently holds a Certified Islamic Finance Executive certificate issued by Ethica Institute of Islamic Finance (Dubai).
Khalis was corporate counsel for Meinhardt (Singapore) Pte Ltd, an international engineering firm with a presence in 22 countries, for two years.
Khalis later became Legal Director of Mubadala CapitaLand Real Estate LLC ("Capitala") based in Abu Dhabi. Capitala is a multi-billion dollar joint-venture between CapitaLand (Singapore) and Mubadala Development Company of Abu Dhabi.

Khalis acted as counsel in a settled estate with more than 90 beneficiaries. He successfully managed to multiply its revenue by obtaining court sanction to vary the settlement, re-develop the property via a JV agreement and distribute the sales proceeds well before the original schedule.
He was deeply involved in establishing Meinhardt's branches in the Middle-East, negotiating major consultancy contracts pertaining to the Signature Tower, Dubai Financial Centre (Dubai), and Resorts World at Sentosa (Singapore)
At Capitala he started the legal department from scratch and covered areas such as company secretary, corporate, property transactions, construction, insurance, human resources, trade mark and joint-venture issues. He spearheaded efforts to prepare the project for international standard strata laws and facilities management.
