Our Building and Construction practice group comprises lawyers who have a close working relationship with industry professionals such as engineers, architects, civil and structural engineers, mechanical and electrical engineers, quantity surveyors and other experts. We are therefore equipped to handle not only the legal issues, but also have a firm understanding of the technical and practical issues involved in building and construction related matters. This facilitates the evaluation and presentation of expert evidence in appropriate cases.

Our services encompass both contentious and non-contentious aspects of construction and infrastructure related work.

The non-contentious work involves drafting and general advisory services for contractors and developers in projects including, contracts for appointment of consultants, main contractor and nominated sub-contractors. The contentious work includes advice and claims for work done, claims for extension of time, post-construction default, prolongation costs, variations and damages.

We also advice on insurance issues in relation to building and construction matters.
